Rizzuto Foods, in cooperation with the Whole Grains Council and Shepherds Grain Flour introduce whole wheat pizza crusts designed specifically for school foodservice.

The new dietary guidelines for Americans, released January 2005, recommend that everyone eat at least half their grains as whole grains. The USDA defines a whole grain serving as any food containing 16 grams of whole grain. Our new 12" whole wheat pizza crust provides over 18 grams of whole grain per serving when cut into 8 slices. Under the Whole Grains Council guidelines this product is defined as an "Excellent Source" of whole grain. A small amount of whole grain translates into big health benefits.

We exclusively use Shepherd's Grain brand flour in our whole wheat products. We are proud to support the Columbia Plateau Producers who are a small group of progressive Northwest family farmers committed to growing quality wheat using environmentally friendly production methods.
